ABOUT US

Image Tech was created by Chris Cooper in 1999. With a love for cars he decided that his future was in car wrapping. Having covered cars of all ranges, from basic models to high end performance and luxury cars, Chris found he was looking to do other challenges. So he looked into other automotive vehicles. Commercial vehicles – classic hot rods and even bespoke internal wraps and racing cars.

After seeing first hand the versatility of the wrapping process, Chris decided to take it one step further and moved into the architectural wrapping. This brought a totally new market and different challenges. Chris then set up Vinyl Spec, a company that could offer different types of wrapping and seeing the results achieved means Vinyl Spec are able to offer wrapping to the following

Kitchen Wraps

Appliance Wraps

Furniture Wraps

Automotive Wraps (Commercial / Private and Prestige)

Signage for Vehicles (Commercial or Private)

Signage for Shops

UPVC Windows and Doors

Garages and Conservatories

Chris Cooper

DIRECTOR

I trained as a sign engineer when I left school (only a couple of years ago!). Vinyl application was always a part of sign installation that I developed a small talent for. I decided to concentrate on this side of signage which lead me in to the wrapping quarter about 10 years in to my career. I’ve always been a sucker for the finished product and this gave me so much satisfaction wrapping cars to see the end product and the customers faces when they received their cars back, but this was never quite enough. I wanted to push further afield with wrapping and took the plunge into architectural wrapping, giving someone something for a fraction of the price it would cost to replace was the ultimate goal for me. There is no greater pride than achieving someone else’s vision with your own hands.

Sean Boyle

DIRECTOR

My name is Sean Boyle. My background has always been construction – since the age of 16, I have always worked in and around construction. I then went on to become a sales director of a building company for 15 years where I then decided to change career. I then went on to pursue my dream of owning and running a bar. I decided after 2 years that the family could do a much better job without my interference. Chris and I decided to go into partnership and create Vinyl Spec. All the years – when I was in construction I have always liked being asked for abstract and bespoke ideas. There’s nothing better than to be able to help someone else’s ideas become a reality and since starting business with Chris – it has opened my eyes to the true potential of vinyl wrapping.

ACCOUNT MANAGER

After leaving school, I studies at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, where for a few years I studied and danced alongside Victoria Adams (better known as Mrs Beckham!). Upon leaving college I pursued my career as a dancer on a cruise liner, realising my dream and travelling the world. In my later years, after meeting Chris and having children, I then started and ran my own cleaning company but have now decided to join the family business. After seeing first hand the success of Vinyl Spec and being the bosses better half now means I get to boss him about daily as well.

SITE TECHNICIAN

Searching for a job isn’t easy after leaving school, boy did I learn – no one is prepared to give you a chance. I searched around for ages and fortunately I got offered a job from a friend to be a sign engineer. After doing signs for a couple months I really started to enjoy installing vinyl, and on more than just signs. It was then I was fortunate enough that Chris was in need of a new mate and so I began working for him.  2 years down the line and under the steady influence of Chris I have now applied vinyl on numerous different  surfaces such as windows, cars, lorry cabs, trailers, kitchen worktops, cupboards, signs and many others. I really feel confident when I’m working with vinyl which is one of the main steps I have overcome to enjoy the installation side of things. It’s always good to see a job from start to completion and to be part of the team who makes these transformations happen is a dream job come true.
I’m excited to be a part of the future of Vinyl Spec.

Paul Knight

SALES & INSTALL MANAGER

My name is Paul Knight. Upon leaving school I achieved level 2 mechanics and went to work for 9 months at a local garage. Having always had a love of cars, I then went on to rebuild a 1980s mini clubman. I continued this as my weekend hobby whilst my daytime job for the last 10 years was as a lead youth worker for the largest youth charity in the world (and yes it is also a song !!). Since meeting and joining Vinyl Spec it has reignited my love and interest for car wrapping and now being able to use that art and wrap other things as well – the world is our wrappable oyster !!

Due to the success of vinyl wrap we have now moved to a fully equipped wrap centre in Essex where we are looking to expand our wrap business and further develop our offsite options.
